Hervé Gaillet

Hervé Gaillet is a novelist and blogger. He has published five detective novels in which the writer Pierre Benoit takes on the role of an amateur detective in a novelistic way ( Derrière les lignes – 2017 Prix AlterPublishing 2017; Une Belle pour le Solilloque – 2019, Code Ancolie – 2020, Pierre Benoit mène l'enquête and Pierre Benoit face au crime – 2023). He is a member of the Association des Amis de Pierre Benoit and regularly contributes to its annual Cahiers.

Hervé Gaillet won the 2021 Pierre Benoit Prize from the Académie française for his book Pierre Benoît , also published by AlterPublishing in November 2020.

  • Paris, 1925 – The capital is bloodied by a series of murders. Through the strange anonymous poems that claim them, the police become convinced that these crimes are committed in close connection with the characters and plots of the novels of a successful writer of the moment. His collaboration with the police will then become decisive. Behind the Lines is a detective exofiction that leads the reader to rediscover the personality and work of one of the most prominent and picturesque novelists of the interwar period: Pierre Benoit.
