Frank Gröninger - Draw me a German

Frank Gröninger

Frank Gröninger was born in Germany and has lived in Paris since 1993, where he teaches German and intercultural relations.

He published his first book Douce Frankreich (AlterPublishing Prize 2021) in French and German in 2021. Dessine-moi un(e) Allemand(e) is Frank Gröninger's second book.

After an initial observation of France, his work as a link between France and Germany continues with an inverted view: the German looks at his country of birth.

Frank Gröninger - Draw me a German

  • Germans are on time, drink beer and listen to corny songs. Cliché or truth? Where do these stereotypes come from?

So many questions answered by the author and 24 children between 5 and 15 years old, German and French, who also wanted to illustrate their answers: 43 drawings are included in this work.

Does not the truth come out of the mouths of babes?

Draw me a German is the result of the reflection of adults and children, of both nationalities, to go beyond and understand, with seriousness and lightness, clichés, stereotypes and preconceived ideas!

Dessine-moi un(e) Allemand(e) is the second work by Frank Gröninger who published his first book Douce Frankreich in French and German in 2021. After an initial observation of France, his work as a link between France and Germany continues with an inverted perspective: the German looks at his country of birth.
