Hervé Gaillet - Pierre Benoit facing crime
A writer, novelist, poet, journalist and academic (1931) with a whimsical and picturesque personality, Pierre Benoit enchanted millions of readers from the early 1920s to the late 1950s, while often delighting the social press of the interwar period. In a novelistic and fictional way, under his own name or under the pseudonym of Deputy Inspector Ferdinand Fraisse, of the 1st Special Brigade, Pierre Benoit confronts murderers without mercy or scruples, always with relaxation and without ever taking himself seriously.
In what exact circumstances did Georges Chambly commit suicide? Who could have killed Hortense de Fontrouble in her office, which was locked from the inside? What secret lies behind the accidental death of the wife of the British governor of the Indian state of Chandragor? Why was the young lawyer Paul Flacey shot? What possible defense is there for Anémone Labadie, who confessed to the murder of her brother and who is incriminated by all the elements of the investigation?
This is what Pierre Benoit will help the reader discover...
