Hervé Gaillet - A Beauty for the Soliloquy

  • Paris, 1927 – While Paris in the Roaring Twenties gradually forgets the trauma of the Great War in the dance halls and bars of Montparnasse, the writer Pierre Benoit (1886 - 1962), under his pseudonym of "Assistant Inspector Ferdinand Fraisse", is back to lead a new investigation alongside Commissioner Théophile-Stanislas Fortalembert, himself assisted by an unexpected investigator.

These three investigators will take an interest in the apparently banal murder of a former criminal but, in the capital as well as in the colonies, their investigations will bring back events from the past on which some seem determined to take their revenge.
